Dear Mr Hong,
Sorry it took so long to send you my comments on the trip planned by your company. It was outstanding in every way, and we could not have asked for more.
We would like to make a few comments about the more significant people and events: First of all, the highlight of the trip was the day (and night) we spent on Halong Bay on the Indochina Sails Junk. The scenery was among the most magnificent we have ever encountered, and we are both experienced world travelers. Had we known better, would have added one or two extra days on the bay.
Mr Jerry Bowes, General Manager for the Halong Bay excursion provided a comfortable environment and was extremely accommodating to our needs. The food and wine offerings were absolutely fantastic. We can only comment on our own experience, but many of the other passengers made similar comments, and also wished that they had signed up for an extra day or two on the junk.
Although all the guides were very good, three of them deserve a special comment: First of all was our guide in Hanoi, whose name I unfortunately misplaced, but whom I am sure you will be able to identify, since I believe he is one of your permanent employees Second was the guide in Ho Chi Minh, Mr Nguyen Thanh Thang, whose knowledge and excellent command of English provided the background for the activities at the Cu Chi tunnels, and knowledge of the American War.
Last, but not least, was Lhing Ang, Bangkok, who was a delightful and knowledgeable guide, who also spoke a totally fluent English with an excellent command of American slang. (Mr Jiro, you should be proud of her !!).
Your choices of hotels were excellent, but our favorite was the Mandrini, in Chiang Rai. Overall, and excellent trip, well planned, well executed, and an excellent value for the money spent. I will recommend your company to my friends. Robert Lindquist
